**Distribution will be to all three classes at the same time in the library, so one presentation for 30 minutes.
Monday, February 28th, from 2:00 to 3:00 for the 4th grade class at Valley View Elementary School, 3555 N Milwaukee St., Boise, 83704.
If you recall, the 3rd grade class was "poached" by another Rotary Club, but the 3rd graders last year (now 4th graders) never got dictionaries. There are approximately 65 students, and teachers for this delivery (2 classes). I'm able to make it unless there are others that would like to do it. Please let me know if you can help Monday afternoon.
Distribution Agenda
1. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to transport books into the school and make contact with the school secretary or teacher.
2. Briefly introduce yourself and where you work
3. What is Rotary and why are we giving them these dictionaries and what the different sections are in the dictionary (presidents, solar system, word dictionary, states, etc.)
4. Distribute the books and ask students to write their name in them when they get back to their desk.
5. Teach them how to use the table of contents.
6. If time allows, ask them a question and have the first one to find the answer raise their hand and share the page it's found on and the answer.
7. Thank them for their time and it's up to their teacher how they will use the books and if they can take them home.
Rotary Youth Exchange for August 2022- June 2023 year has 11 Outbound students. Which means we will have 11 Inbound students that we need to find hosts for.
If you have been considering being a host family, or you have friends that were considering this, please consider 2022-2023.
Capital High, Boise High and Borah High will be having students for sure.
Let Kaci Jensen know if you would be willing to get our youth back into cultural exchanges.
Amy Byrd has been part of the Steering Committee for the Rotary Wetland Peace Preserve and needs to have someone replace her. She is looking for a club member that can attend 1 meeting a month and will be happy to answer any and all questions about the project and get you up to speed. This coming winter and spring will be a very exciting time for the project with goal to break ground next year on this extraordinary project that will be a legacy for all the Rotary Clubs in the Valley as well as the District, Interacts Clubs and Rotaract Clubs.
Please think about participating in this great project and answering this call soon!
