  • Relieve pressures veterans experience during transition or post deployment
  • Instill or regain self-confidence by learning and advancing skill set (SCUBA diving)
  • Build community with other veteran divers
  • Begin a lifelong activity that can be done with other vets or as a connection point with family and friends.
  • Assist with coping mechanisms for anxiety and stress

The long Game, healthy living in the United States

Please help me welcome Medina as our guest speaker this morning.  Many of us may be considering or reconsidering resolutions made for the new year.  Health issues are always at the top of the list for most people.  Let's all look at this month of February as a time to think about our most important asset, our health.

Medina Blanchet is a registered dietitian/nutritionist. Medina received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, which is one of the top natural health universities in the nation. She completed her dietetic internship at Utah State University.

A great many of us follow a diet which may or may not be the best route to a healthy future.  This morning we will learn what we can do to imporve our chances of living long, happy, active and productive lives.

We all know that we should attempt to eat a healthy diet, important too, trying to keep a healthy weight.  Exercising is very important if this goal is going to be met, but what exercise is best and how often?  Please come to our meeting this morning and welcome Lee Postma, Certified Personal Trainer.

We invited Lee for several reasons, first off he is a big golf and tennis fan as will as an outdoor enthusiast.  Second, he is both certified in Yoga therapy and a Certified Personal Trainer.  His approach is to increase your strength for your particular lifestyle while building balance and flexibility.   Whatever your personal goals might be, Lee can help you, plus he is an energetic guy and gives a great presentation, come listen and learn!

Our new Children's Museum

The Grand Opening of the Meridian Children's Museum was held late last year.  Everyone will find this to be an interesting presentaion, especially those with children or grand children.  The museum plans on serving roughly 90,000 children under the age of 10 in the Treasure Valley each and every year.
